We are closing in on the last few weeks of Apex legends’ eleventh tropical season, Escape. However, Storm Point waters are not yet finished revealing their secrets.
Dark Depths will unveil a new map for Apex Legends Arenas mode. Habitat is the name of the map. It takes place in caves and waterfalls around a nest of Leviathans, massive, mountain-sized dinosaurs that can often be seen running across King’s Canyon. It looks dense at first glance.
Respawn described the new map as Habitat 4. Our vision of an arena can be established in nature but still adheres to the principles of arena design. Habitat 4 has a large waterfall as its main feature. It has created terraces and trenches at different elevations over the years, as it has worn away the landscape. This island is a paradise for those who love slides and quick getaways.
Dark Depths opens up a world of new fishy skins for our tropical killers. Apex’s fate is not secure as Ash transforms into a three-eyed crab, and Fuse, an Aussie barbeque god of “Broseidon,” becomes Ash. In a very targeted attack on my entire Twitter persona, Horizon got Splatoon’d in a new outfit that sees her wearing a pastel-squid-themed Scuba suit.
These skins leaked a bit early. Unfinished versions accidentally fell in loot boxes last month for the Raiders collection event. These skins were quickly removed from the game. However, if you open one of these items early enough, Respawn promises that they will return to your inventory once the event starts.
Dark Depths is open from Tuesday, January 11, through Tuesday, February 1, with week-long reward tracks that offer extra cosmetics and battle pass level rewards. Respawn has stated that skins can still be purchased or crafted after the event, although prices may drop after two seasons.
