Zoë Kravitz Praises Pattinson’s Out of This World Batman Transformation

Zoe Kravitz lauds Robert Pattinson for his transformation in Batman as “Out of This World.” Lenny Kravitz’s daughter stars as Selina Kyle, a nightclub worker who disguises herself as Catwoman to steal from burglars under Matt Reeves’s movie. Kravitz is no stranger to superhero fare. He voiced Catwoman in 2017’s The LEGO Batman Movie.

After her breakout role as Angel Salvadore, 2011’s X-Men First Class, Kravitz also portrayed Mary Jane in 2018’s Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse. She will now have the opportunity to play Catwoman alongside Pattinson, a younger Dark Knight in his second year of fighting crime in Gotham City. The pair will face off against many iconic villains, including The Riddler (Paul Dano), and The Penguin (Colin Farrell), while rumors suggest Barry Keoghan may be playing The Joker. Batman stars Andy Serkis in the role of Alfred Pennyworth, and Jeffrey Wright plays the role of Commissioner Gordon.

Variety reports that Kravitz has seen “a little” of Reeves’ Batman. The film is currently in post-production. Although she is not allowed to divulge much about the DC film, The Catwoman actress was praised for Pattinson’s performance. She said, “His transformation was out-of-this-world.” Read Kravitz’s full quote below:

Rob is the perfect choice for this role. His transformation was amazing. His transformation was amazing. Matt Reeves is a director with a lot of heart and cares about these characters. It’s a great feeling for him to be able go on vacation. It’s a hard work project that I hope fans enjoy.

The Batman was initially intended to be a solo performance for Ben Affleck. Many were initially confused when Pattinson was cast in the role. He is best known as Edward Cullen, the awkward vampire from Twilight. He has since been a star in various indie films, including The Lighthouse and The Good Time. He was recently seen in Christopher Nolan’s TENET. However, his dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman may be his best chance to get rid of his Twilight persona.

Although Kravitz may have seen more footage than the general population, the trailer The Batman shows that Pattinson’s transformation to the Caped Crusader is certainly something to see, not only visually but also vocally. Pattinson’s voice is reduced to a harsh growl like other Batman actors. This perfectly suits the dark tone Reeves has set for the adaptation. Batman will debut in theaters on March 4.

What was Ben Affleck’s unmade Batman movie like Matt Reeves’ Batman? Between the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League earlier this year along with Ben Affleck’s return as the Caped Crusader in The Flash (which, through the film’s Multiverse-exploring plot, will also feature Michael Keaton’s Batman), interest has been rekindled in what Affleck had planned for the film, which runs parallel to the larger ongoing #RestoreTheSnyderVerse campaign. Warner Bros. claims they will not be moving forward with Snyder’s unmade Justice League sequels. However, the SnyderVerse push is just as intense as for the Snyder Cut. It’s no surprise that Affleck’s Batman movie was a part of the SnyderVerse.

However, Matt Reeves’ Batman is not getting ignored. The anticipation for Reeves’ younger, more modern take on Batman has been high since the trailer was released at 2020’s DC fandom. Although Robert Pattinson’s casting has been met with some skepticism from fans, Affleck was the subject of similar backlash before his debut in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Reeves, Pattinson wants to be a different Dark Knight than Snyder and Affleck. The reaction to Batman’s trailer shows that it is highly anticipated.

Even though Affleck had left the role, there was still interest in the Batman movie, one of the biggest “What If’s…” superhero movies. When Affleck returned to The Flash, it was only natural that curiosity would rise. We now know a lot about Ben Affleck’s unmade Batman movie and how it differs from The Batman.
